Events are held every week in the city, from the annual opening event at the end of March to the Koedo Kawagoe Festival Folk Dance convention.

The fireworks festival, which is full of spectators every year, is held in a different place depending on the year

Kawagoe Million Lights Summer Festival

Area between and surrounding Kawagoe Station and Ichiban Gai

The festival is said to have been based on the hanging of lanterns on the eaves of people's houses out of reverence for the benevolence of the master of the castle Naritsune Matsudaira in 1850. From 1982 it has been known as the "Citizens' festival", and events such as parades, a large procession with portable shrines, Samba dancing, and a local merchant fairs are held during the festival.

Potato Digging Tour

During the sweet potato harvest period, which is famous in Kawagoe, you can experience picking potatoes at each farm.

Kawagoe Festival

Kawagoe City area

"Hikkawase" is the highlight of this festival. In "Hikkawase", the floats parade around the streets and when they come together at an intersection, the bands on the floats play energetic music and try to outperform each other. At night, the gorgeous floats appear amidst the lantern lights as the festival reaches its climax.

Koedo Kawagoe Grand Tea Ceremony

Renkeiji (main hall, reception hall), Nakain, Naritasan Kawagoe Betsuin, Kawagoe Castle Honmaru Palace

The Grand Tea Ceremony was held for everyone regardless of the clothing and formality. Location of the event was Renkeiji (main hall, reception hall), Nakain, Naritasan Kawagoe Betsuin, and Kawagoe Castle Honmaru Palace.
